Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center is seeking an ED Tech to assist in our Emergency Department under the supervision of the Staff RN. You will perform basic patient care, draw labs, place leads for EKGs, transport patients, and assist with procedures as directed.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, annual CPR certification, and preferably one year of nursing assistant experience. The role emphasizes teamwork and exceptional patient service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Annual CPR certification is required.
• Attends non-violent crisis intervention within 1 year of employment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under RN supervision in the Emergency Department.
• Perform Lab Draws, EKGs, and monitoring lead placement.
• Transport patients including telemetry patients as needed.
• Assist with catheterizations, sterile dressings, and setup for procedures as directed by an RN.
• Document patient care using the computerized Clinical Documentation System.

They perform a variety of basic patient care activities in caring for patients in the Emergency Department.Responds to the demands of changing patient acuity in a positive, efficient mannerDemonstrates responsibility and accountability for continuous improvement.Practices quality service as evidenced through QI results and patient satisfaction.Maintains positive customer relations with all customers of the Emergency Department including patients, families, and other Center staff.Maintains positive team member relations by demonstrating responsibility and accountability for enhancing positive relations.Assists with patient care by performing the following duties: Lab Draws, EKGs, Monitor Lead Placement, Catheterizations, Simple Sterile Dressings, Set-Up of Suture Trays, Patient Transport (including Telemetry patients within 6 months), Set up for and assist with pelvic exams as directed by an RN.Assist with VS and other duties in Triage as directed by an RN.Document patient care using a computerized Clinical Documentation System.Job Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.Annual CPR certification.Attends non-violent crisis intervention within 1 year of employmentOne year of nursing assistant experience preferredExerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
