Job summary

Trinity Health in Berwyn, IL seeks a full-time Emergency Department assistant to support nurses and physicians in patient care during 12-hour night shifts. You will perform basic and complex procedures, require current CPR, and may need ACLS/PALS within designated timeframes. Prior ED experience and strong communication are preferred.

On-site hospital duties and computer/data entry tasks are involved. Certification as CNA or EMT (ambulance, paramedic, or intermediate) is preferred, with a HS

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification at time of hire.
• ACLS certification (Advance Cardiac Life Support) at time of hire or within six (6) months.
• PALS within six (6) months to one (1) year of hire.
• One (1) year of ED experience preferred.
• Completion of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal to communicate with patients, families and staff.
• Prior experience with a computer including data entry.

Description

FT Nights. Reporting to the Nurse Manager and under the general supervision of a Charge Nurse, assists both nurses and physicians with patients in the Emergency Department by performing both basic and complex patient care procedures.

Qualifications

Current certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant or an Emergency Medical Technician – either Ambulance, Intermediate or Paramedic preferred. One (1) year of previous experience in an Emergency Department setting preferred. Completion of a High School Diploma or its equivalent. Current CPR certification at time of hire. ACLS certification (Advance Cardiac Life Support) at time of hire or within six (6) months. Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Class at time of hire or within six (6) months. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months to one (1) year of hire. Effective communication skills both written and verbal in order to communicate with patients and families as well as all levels of hospital staff. Prior experience with a computer including data entry.

Compensation

Salary Range: $17.30 - $26.81 per hour. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
