Job summary

Saint Clare's Health in New Jersey is seeking a per diem Emergency Department Technician to assist with activities of daily living, provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and help maintain a safe environment under the supervision of the RN.

Requirements include High School Diploma or equivalent, EMT certification or CNA if required by the state, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and at least six months' experience in acute care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred

Responsibilities

• The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire

Knowledge of Medical Terminology

Minimum six months experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office
