Job summary

The Western Maine Regional Program for Children with Exceptionalities (WMRPCE) at Oxford Hills School District is seeking energetic Ed Tech II or III staff to support students with diverse needs. The role emphasizes student-centered planning, collaboration with teachers, and data-driven progress monitoring.

Candidates should be experienced with IEP goals, behavior support, and data recording; Maine CHRC and TE II/III authorization are required. This is a full-time position in Oxford, Maine.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Educational Technician II or III Authorization and a CHRC from Maine Department of Education.
  • Experience with students and collaboration with teachers to achieve goals.
  • Knowledge of curriculum relevant to job assignment and ability to implement IEP goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support students 1:1 or in small groups to implement IEP goals across academics, vocational, daily living, and study skills.
  • Collaborate and communicate with educators to plan and monitor progress.
  • Accurately collect and record student data on a computer.
  • Implement positive behavior support plans as needed and update records.

Job description

The Western Maine Regional Program for Children with Exceptionalities (WMRPCE) is a public regional special education program seeking dynamic, collaborative, and creative special education Ed Tech II or III's in both of our social, emotional, behavior programs at our Oxford, Maine (7-12) site. Students in this type of program have a wide variety of academic, functional, and developmental needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth.

Successful candidates will:
  • Be student centered
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic about supporting students
  • Have experience building positive relationships with students and supporting student success
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other educators
  • Be Safety Care trained or willing to be trained
  • Work successfully with a collaborative educational team
  • Accurately collect student data and record data on a computer
  • Hold a current Educational Technician II or III Authorization and a current Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) from Maine Department of Education
Qualifications:
  • Enjoy working with students and supporting teachers to achieve goals and objectives for each individual student
  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of students to implement goals/objectives of the Individual Education Programs with academic, vocational, daily living, and/or study skills
  • Introduce new learning pre-planned in consultation with the teacher
  • Implement positive behavior support plans of students as needed
  • Strong skills in communication, organization and interpersonal relations
  • Must have flexibility and creative problem-solving ability
  • Have knowledge of the curriculum appropriate to job assignment
  • Must meet Maine Educational Technician III requirements and preferably coursework in education and experience working with children, experience working with children with disabilities

Qualifications Profile
  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
  • Prior experience working with children desirable.
