Job summary

Hermon School Department in Hermon, ME is seeking an Educational Technician to support a 3-4-year-old special education Pre-K program. You will work closely with teachers, BCBA and related service providers to help students meet behavioral and academic goals.

The role focuses on implementing IEPs, maintaining progress notes, and fostering a safe, inclusive classroom. A high school diploma and 60 college credits, plus Maine DOE CHRC and Ed Tech II authorization, are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited postsecondary institution.
  • Maine DOE CHRC (Criminal History Record Check).
  • Valid Ed Tech II Authorization from the Maine Department of Education.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in reaching behavioral, academic, and social goals.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with communication, social skills, and safety instruction.
  • Implement students' IEPs and behavior plans.
  • Keep accurate daily documentation and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with educators, specialists, and families.
  • Include work before and/or after regular school hours as part of special transportation responsibilities.

What You'll Do as an Ed Tech
