Job summary

Regional School Unit #4 at Oak Hill High School in the Litchfield–Sabattus–Wales area seeks an Educational Technician I to support students' educational development under teacher supervision. You will assist with instructional support, manage materials, monitor behavior plans, and help with testing modifications, lunches, and classroom routines, collaborating with educators.

Responsibilities

• Works with individuals or small groups of students to provide curriculum support with teacher supervision
• Supports students with accommodations and/or modifications
• Monitors student behavior plans as defined by the teacher
• Conducts student observations as defined by the teacher
• Becomes familiar with classroom rules, expectations, materials and assignments
• Performs lunch or break duty as assigned by the Building Administrator
• Performs additional duties as requested by the Building Administrator or supervising teacher
• Maintains records of student work completion, progress and other areas as defined by the teacher
• Is familiar with or carries out individualized student needs and accommodations as defined by IEPs or 504 plans
• Prepares calendars, bulletin boards, and instructional support materials
• Supports teacher by correcting student work as directed
• Meets with supervising teacher on a regular basis
• Alerts teachers to changes in student behavior or performance
• Monitors student use of equipment and materials
• Assists in preparation of materials
• Assists with testing modifications
• Maintains confidentiality about all aspects of student performance and written and oral records
• Demonstrates a respect for the legal and human rights of students
• Follows health and safety procedures established by the District
• Arrives and departs punctually, notifying appropriate personnel about absences
• Demonstrates dependability, integrity, and other ethical standards
