Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an ED Tech CNA1 to support patient care and admissions in our Emergency Department. This role combines daily patient assistance with administrative duties, including insurance verification and EMR documentation.

Ideal candidates have Nurse Aide I certification and 1 year of experience; BLS is required. ED/outpatient settings and phlebotomy skills are a plus. Join a community hospital team dedicated to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Nurse Aide I certification required. BLS required. Some departments may have additional CPR requirements.
• 1 year Nurse Aide experience preferred; ED/outpatient experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and care.
• Prepare and turnover patient rooms; manage linens and trash.
• Restock unit supplies; set up for procedures.
• Provide support to Medical-Surgical unit and perform 12-lead EKGs.
• Assist with patient registration, including insurance verification, and EMR documentation.

What You'll Do

ED Tech CNA1

This role provides both patient care and administrative support. Responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), preparing and turning over patient rooms, managing linens and trash, restocking unit supplies, setting up for procedures, and providing support to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed. Team members will also be trained to perform 12-lead EKGs and assist with patient registration, including insurance verification, electronic medical record (EMR) documentation, and use of insurance verification systems. Strong computer skills are required, and all registration duties are trainable.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School or GED, required.
• Experience: Nurse Aide experience. Experience in basic patient care, phlebotomy, EKG in an emergency or outpatient setting highly desirable, 1 year experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Nurse Aide I, required. American Heart Association BLS required. Some departments have additional advanced CPR requirements as listed on staff annual education record, required. Phlebotomy Certification, preferred
