Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, LA is seeking an ER Tech to support nursing care, perform patient transport, and assist with charge entry in a fast-paced ER. The role requires CPR knowledge and a high school diploma, with prior experience preferred but not required.

12-hour shifts and opportunities to grow within the hospital are offered. The ER Tech will work closely with the ER team to ensure patient safety and high-quality care for all ages.

• Identifies patient and family education needs and in collaboration with other disciplines initiates education needs according to the age of the patient.
• Participates in departmental and hospital improvement plan.

• Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data.
• Consistently lives by Iberia Medical Center's Standards of Performance.
• Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals.
• Safely transports and notifies staff of inpatient admits brought to assigned rooms.
• Correctly enters all patients in the ER logbook.
• Collects urine, stool, sputum specimens and transports to lab.
• Restocks/cleans ER rooms.
• Assists staff with computer order entry.
• Assists patients with eating, mobility, dressing, and toileting.
• Assists staff with obtaining and recording vital signs.
• Computer entry of patient charges
• Demonstrates respect for patients and families.
• Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care.

IMC is currently hiringanER Tech, whoisresponsibleforapplying the nursing process (assessment, planning,intervention and evaluation) in caring for patients.Effectively interacting with patient,significant others, and other heath team members.Demonstrating knowledge and skills necessaryto provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and relatedcriteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.The ER Tech also assists the ER staff with enteringpatient charges in the computer and maintaining clean ER rooms.

WORK HOURS:

• 12 Hour Shifts, (alternating weekends)

EDUCATION

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience preferred, but not required.
