Job summary

The Emergency Department (ED) Technician, supervised by Nursing Staff, assists in providing emergency care. Performs duties and direct technical care needing knowledge of basic patient care standards and medical technology.

Education requires a HS diploma or GED; 1 year of experience. BLS certification preferred. PRN, on-site role at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Marble Falls offers exposure to a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Helps in patient care duties, collects data such as vital signs, weight, pulse oximetry, pain scale, and nutritional intake.
• Recognizes and reports abnormal data and follows physician/provider and nursing orders.
• Provides direct technical care, assists with mobility, toileting, feeding and other personal care needs.
• Performs phlebotomy to obtain venous blood samples and delivers specimens for lab.
• Transports patients to and from the department.
• Supports patient education and communication with family.
• Performs clinical coordination activities.
