Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university.
• Current Maryland Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license.
• Minimum of two years of experience in emergency department social work or related acute care settings.
• Experience conducting psychosocial assessments and developing discharge plans within healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for ED patients and families to identify needs.
• Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and counseling in a high-volume ED.
• Perform safety assessments and interventions for behavioral health crises and homelessness.
• Develop patient-centered discharge plans to support safe transitions of care.
• Coordinate referrals to community resources and social services.
