Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a nurse leader to guide patient care using the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act and standards of practice. You will delegate and support licensed and ancillary staff and ensure quality patient outcomes while respecting diversity.

As a leader on the unit, you will drive teaching, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and uphold compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred - certification in a clinical specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to deliver patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for diverse patients and families.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources on the interdisciplinary team.
• Uses data to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
• Promotes customer satisfaction and staff morale; supports nursing as a profession.
• Adapts care to diverse patient populations and respects privacy.
