A-Team Solutions is seeking Registered Nurses- ED for full-time positions at the VA Medical Center in Houston, TX. Shifts available day or midshift. The RN provides care to Veterans with acute medical problems and triages to PES as needed.

Qualifications include RN license, current BLS and ACLS, and at least 1 year of critical care or emergency medicine experience within the past 5 years. Computer literacy and full licensure required.

A-Team Solutions is seeking Registered Nurses- ED for full time positions, day or midshift, for the VA Medical Center in Houston, TX

Qualifications

RN, BLS and ACLS certification, and is computer literate. The incumbent practices as a RN in the Emergency Department (ED) providing care to Veterans with acute and urgent medical problems and referrals to primary care for Veterans requesting long-term care. Psychiatric walk-ins are triaged and referred to psychiatric specialty as Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES). Humanitarian care is provided to minors and dependents until stable enough to transfer to appropriate site for continued care. Patients requiring major trauma care are referred to the nearest trauma center. Most frequent presenting problems are chronic illnesses with acute exacerbations such Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), hypertension, diabetes, and diseases related to substance abuse, especially alcohol. Acute problems are mainly of cardiac, musculoskeletal and urologic origin. The average age group ranges from 20 to 70+ years, primarily males with average age of 58 years. The RN is accountable for defined groups of patients on his/her shift.

Requirements

• Shall be licensed in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. The Contract Nurse (s) assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall be graduates of a school of nursing accredited by the National League of Nursing (NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
• Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association
• At least 1 year of critical care or emergency medicine experience within the past 5 years.
