Job summary

Advocate Health's University City Emergency Department seeks a part-time Nurse Aide I/II to support patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, and patient safety duties, while also contributing to basic clerical tasks and chart maintenance.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, an active Nurse Aide registry listing or equivalent, and BLS certification, with shift of 3 PM to 3 AM and a 24-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I or with the applicable state Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients with activities of daily living.
• Assists with personal hygiene and feeding.
• Takes vital signs and height/weight measurements.
• Ambulates patients and maintains patient rooms.
• Observes and reports changes in patient conditions.
• Helps orient patients and educate on safety procedures.
• Handles light clerical work and maintains medical records.
