Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Care Technician to assist in delivering safe patient care in the ED. The role supports nurses, physicians, and mid-level practitioners and helps coordinate care across departments.

Qualified candidates hold an EMT license, BLS, EVOC certification, and a Florida driver license, with a high school diploma or equivalent. EVOC/HAZMAT awareness are required, and all certificates must be kept current.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• EMT license and BLS certification are required.
• HAZMAT Awareness certification is required.
• EVOC completion (16 hours) certification is required.
• Florida Class E driver license is required and valid.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurses, physicians, and mid-level practitioners in delivering patient care safely.
• Assists in coordinating patient care with other departments.
• Maintains a well-stocked and clean Emergency Department (ED).
• Provides basic life support, emergency care, and transportation to the sick and/or injured as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)

Florida EMT license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Awareness certification

Florida Class E driver license

EVOC 16-hours completion certification

Monitor examination within six months post-hire
