Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Worker for the Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) unit on 11N, evenings. You will observe and document patients, maintain therapeutic relationships, and assist with daily activities for ECT services and inpatient care.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and strong communication. One year in psychiatry or related field preferred; college education encouraged, and orientation provided.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills required.
• General behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document patients' physical, emotional and social behavior and report to nursing team.
• Maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and intervene during anxious moments.
• Record vital signs and other clinical information for the care team.
• Assist patients with daily activities for ECT services and inpatient care.
• Provide total care as needed and support the 11North/Electroconvulsive Therapy unit.
