Job summary

SoWashCo Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Special Education Paraprofessional for a district-wide float. The role supports ECSE students under a licensed teacher, with 6-hour days from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.

to 4:00 p.m., starting September 2, 2026. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to advance Highly Qualified status. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and meet the district's Highly Qualified requirements, plus experience with students

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Competencies as required by State of Minnesota, Federal government, and/or District 833.
• Ability to reinforce math, reading, and writing in early childhood classrooms.
• Pass Paraprofessional fitness for duty tests.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support to special education students under licensed teacher supervision.
• Assist with implementing district policies and emergency procedures, confidentiality, and data collection.
• Help students with reading, writing, math, adapting instructional materials as directed.
• Work with students with learning or behavioral challenges and provide personal care support as needed.
• Utilize behavioral management techniques and document behavior and progress.
