Job summary

La Porte Independent School District’s La Porte Elementary is seeking an Aide for Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) for the 2026-2027 school year. Assist teachers in classroom activities, program implementation (FOCUS Life Skills), self-help, behavior management, and instruction under supervision.

Qualifications include High School Diploma or GED, SBEC Educational Aide certificate, and either an Associate degree or 48+ college hours or NCLB ParaEducator Certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid SBEC Educational Aide certificate required.
• Associate's Degree or 48+ college hours or NCLB ParaEducator Certification issued by San Jacinto College or other local educational entity.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements.
• Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including the FOCUS (Life Skills) Program, self-help, behavior management and instruction.
• Work under the general supervision of the supervisor and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.
• Other duties as assigned.
