Job Description: Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements


• Work under the supervision of teacher(s)


• Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative guidelines, local board policy and state law


• Assist the teacher(s) in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays


• Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by teacher(s)


• Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments


• Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

• Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stoopping, pushing/pulling, and twisting


• Motion: Frequent walking


• Lifting: Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds)


• Environment: Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements


• Mental Demands: Maintain control under stress

The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.

Pay Grade: Paraprofessional, Pay Grade 1, 187 Days (updated for 2026-2027)

Minimum: $12.54

Midpoint: $15.00

Compensation based on job-like experience.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $12.54 Per Hour
