Job summary

Georgia Transmission seeks an ECS Technician to install, program, and commission substation equipment across multiple disciplines including SCADA, metering and telecom systems. The role requires hands-on maintenance, quick response to DRP events, and strong troubleshooting of IEDs and networking gear.

The technician will support real-time ECS operations, collaborate with EMCs and contract teams, and ensure compliance with NERC CIP while advancing substation automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology.
• Zero to twelve years installing and maintaining poly-phase metering equipment.
• Equivalent Experience: Associate degree in Electronics/Telecommunications with 3–15 years installing and maintaining SCADA equipment.
• Must pass NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and commission substation equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance at substations.
• Provide real-time operations and maintenance support for GSOC, GPC, and EMC Members.
