Job summary

Georgia Transmission Corporation seeks an Electronics Engineering Technology ECS Technician to install, program, and commission substation equipment across multiple disciplines. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, support real-time operations, and respond to DRP events and power quality issues.

The role requires knowledge of SCADA, fiber optic networks, and IED troubleshooting, plus DNP3/Modbus familiarity. A Georgia driver’s license is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology required.
• Experience with SCADA/telecommunications in substations is preferred.
• NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and commission substation equipment across five disciplines (Revenue Metering, SCADA, MPLS/Fiber, RCMOS, Cyber Security).
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in substations statewide.
• Provide real-time operations and maintenance support for GSOC, GPC, and EMC Members.
• Respond to Disaster Response Plan activations and power quality concerns.
• Troubleshoot and repair IEDs (RTUs, revenue meters, data concentrators, DFRs, telecom networks).
• Coordinate and supervise contract staff for routine maintenance and special projects.
