Job summary

KLLM in Deerfield Beach, FL is seeking a Traffic Controller to supervise the Deerfield transfer station operations. The role focuses on directing vehicle flow, coordinating with Dispatch, and managing equipment to support efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred.
• 3–5+ years of relevant experience in waste management, logistics, or operations.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with exposure to noise, dust, and waste materials.
• Able to sustain physical activity, including walking, standing, and lifting for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Ability to operate machinery and perform site inspection.

Job description

The Traffic Controller is responsible for the supervision and success of the Deerfield, FL transfer station.

Key Responsibilities

Direct traffic in and out of the transfer station

Communicate with Dispatch

Manage equipment counts to reflect customer needs

• Supervise and train drivers
• Manage movement of equipment to ensure efficient workflow
• Enforce all safety policies and procedures and conduct regular inspections
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
• Manage operation and maintenance of heavy equipment
• Tarping required

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred
• 3–5+ years of relevant experience in waste management, logistics, or operations

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with exposure to noise, dust, and waste materials

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA certification
