Job summary

Amazon Science seeks a leader to develop economic and econometric models that influence supply chain and inventory decisions. You will advise senior leaders on evaluating selection and customer behavior, building scalable models for pricing and policy.

Collaboration spans Supply Chain, Operations, Retail, FBA, Consumer Pricing, and Finance. The role emphasizes strong economics foundation, leadership of large, ambiguous projects, and utilization of AI tools.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics or equivalent.
• 2+ years of industry, consulting, government, or academic research experience.
• Experience with handling of large datasets.
• Knowledge of at least one statistical software package (R, Stata, Matlab, SAS).
• Experience in prediction and forecasting in a research or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop Economic and Econometric models and thought leadership for projects spanning the business, focusing on supply chain and inventory selection.
• Partner with Economists, Data/Applied Scientists, Software Engineers and Product Managers to integrate economic insights into policy and systems production.
