Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle seeks an Economist to partner with senior management, business stakeholders, scientists and engineers to solve pricing, labor, inventory, and competitive problems using econometric models on large data sets.

You will work in a fast-paced environment on cross-functional teams, develop techniques that apply econometrics to real-world data, and contribute to automated decision systems while communicating insights to both economists and non‑economists.

Qualifications

• PhD in Economics, Quantitative Marketing, Finance, or closely related field.
• Deep knowledge of econometric analysis of models that involve estimation of fundamental preferences and strategic effects.
• Strong background in statistics methodologies and applications to business problems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop econometric models and techniques to solve business problems at Amazon.
• Apply econometrics to large datasets across multiple domains (pricing, labor, inventory, etc.).
• Contribute to the design of automated systems and decision-support tools.
