Job summary

Amazon.com seeks a PhD economist to apply econometric methods to large datasets and business problems. You will work in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment, partnering with science, engineering, and product teams to design models and metrics that inform pricing, capacity, and customer experience.

Candidates should have a strong publication track record and experience with macro/time-series and empirical IO.

• PhD in economics is required.
• 3+ years of industry, consulting, government, or academic research experience preferred.

You will work in a fast moving environment to solve business problems as a member of either a cross-functional team embedded within a business unit or a central science and economics organization. You will be expected to develop techniques that apply econometrics to large data sets, address quantitative problems, and contribute to the design of automated systems around the company.
