Job summary

Alvin Community College seeks two full-time, 9-month tenured-track Economics instructors for spring 2027. Instructors will teach freshman and sophomore economics courses across campus and other sites, with a focus on student engagement and instructional excellence.

Responsibilities include developing syllabi, assessments, and using technology to support learning, while advising students and contributing to program objectives. A master’s in economics or MBA with economics coursework is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in economics or MBA with 18 graduate hours in economics.
• Proven ability to teach in multiple settings and engage diverse student populations.
• Experience with online instruction and educational technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise a diverse population of students in Economics courses at all Alvin College locations.
• Demonstrate commitment to student engagement, success, and instructional excellence.
• Prepare syllabi, learning objectives, and assessments aligned with accreditation standards and institutional guidelines.
• Utilize instructional technologies and innovative methods to enhance student learning.
• Advise students and assist in recruitment and retention efforts.
• Assess student performance and communicate progress timely.
