Job summary

Community College of Philadelphia is seeking Part‑Time Economics Faculty to teach undergraduate Economics courses for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. This is NOT an online position and will involve teaching at the main campus and regional sites as needed.

The successful candidate will develop lectures, syllabi, and assignments, integrate real‑world insights, and participate in college committees and student life activities to support student success.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Economics, or an MBA with a master’s level Economics concentration.
  • Verifiable work experience in Economics.
  • Knowledge of current technological applications in Economics courses.
  • Ability to teach a variety of day, evening, and weekend Economics courses at main campus and regional sites.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Doctorate degree in Economics.
  • At least two years of recent college teaching experience in Economics.
  • Active participation in industry-related professional development activities.
  • Knowledge and willingness to develop online and web-enhanced courses.
  • Prior experience using Canvas Learning Management System.
  • Willingness to revise and maintain courses and curriculum.
  • Commitment to participating in departmental and college committees.
  • Active participation in national/regional industry organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver lectures for undergraduate students in Economics.
  • Develop syllabi, course materials, and assignments reflecting industry trends and research.
  • Provide academic guidance that encourages critical thinking and practical applications.
  • Stay connected with the industry by attending professional events and engaging with organizations.
  • Collaborate with industry experts to integrate real‑world insights into the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the College’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Participate in academic life, including graduation, recruitment events, student life activities, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Foster collaboration, address problems, and inspire others to achieve college and department goals.
  • Establish an inclusive classroom environment and support diverse backgrounds.
  • Engage in continual assessment and update courses to meet learning outcomes.
  • Promote student success with innovative teaching strategies and office hours.
  • Pursue professional growth, mentoring, and service to the profession.
