Cardiff is seeking an Economic Research Writer to produce its economic and industry research reports. You’ll translate data releases like CPI, Case-Shiller, consumer confidence, and Fed decisions into clear, credible analyses that reporters cite and small business owners can use.

Expect a structured release calendar and deadlines. You’ll write recurring reports on data releases and industry sectors Cardiff serves, analyze public data and Cardiff’s lending data, and deliver summaries for media

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Ability to read economic data and find the story with a strong lead.
• Published clips in business, finance, or economic writing.
• Exceptional English writing; your work should be your own.
• Clean, accurate copy that needs minimal editing.
• Reliability on turnaround times, often 2 to 5 business days.

Responsibilities

• Write recurring reports on economic data releases such as CPI, the Case-Shiller Home Price Index, consumer confidence, jobs, and Fed rate decisions.
• Write industry reports on the sectors Cardiff serves, including trucking and freight, construction and trades, agriculture, and food service.
• Analyze public data and Cardiff’s lending data to surface key findings and trends.
• Produce quarterly and year-end reports that pull the year’s data together.
• Deliver clear report summaries our PR team can pitch to media.
• Hit publication timelines tied to data release dates.
