Job summary

Brookings Institution is hiring a Research Assistant for The Hamilton Project in Washington, DC. The role supports policy development, data analysis, and research production within a collaborative, policy-focused environment.

You will work with senior staff to analyze economic issues, create visualizations, and assist with the publication of policy papers and data dashboards. The position blends research with coordination and publishing tasks in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field required.

Responsibilities

• Develop policy areas and ideas for research with leadership and commissions.
• Research policy areas and stay current with policy activity.
• Independently analyze data in Excel, STATA, or R and present findings clearly.
• Create charts, figures, and data interactives for Hamilton Project papers.
• Co-author Hamilton Project research products including Economic Facts and empirical analyses.
• Develop and maintain THP data dashboards on various topics.
• Coordinate policy proposal management with directors and commissioned authors.
• Monitor drafts/timelines and consolidate feedback for authors.
