Job summary

Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) seeks a motivated student for an internship focused on economic development and regional planning. You will assist with data gathering, analysis, and the preparation of outreach materials for internal teams and partners.

The role involves supporting the Economic Development team, coordinating across departments, and helping with newsletters and event logistics. Ideal candidates are pursuing Urban/Regional Planning or related fields and have strong

Currently enrolled in a college or university; preference for an upper-class or graduate student.

Responsibilities

Assist with projects related to economic development programs
Gather, summarize, and analyze data on topics like economic outlook, demographics and best practices
Prepare detailed factsheets distilling information for grants or loans
Design and create flyers, presentations, and marketing materials using Canva and similar tools
Communicate across MORPC departments and with county partners and stakeholders
Assist with content and formatting for MORPC communications and newsletters
Conduct online research on programs related to economic and community development
Attend external meetings hosted by regional partners and MORPC events
Assist with event planning and workshops related to economic development
Perform special projects as assigned by the Economic Development team
