Job summary

The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while building relationships with local businesses and public leaders. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office is preferred. Base salary ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the President/CEO with economic development initiatives, projects, and research.
  • Support member and investor engagement and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage Board and annual meetings and related materials.
  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll processing and manage accounts payable/receivable.
  • Prepare financial documents and assist with monthly reconciliations and audits.

Job description

The Economic Development & Finance Manager provides essential financial, administrative, organizational, and community engagement support to the organization. This position works closely with the President/CEO to ensure accurate financial operations, effective member and investor communication, successful board and annual meetings, and continued engagement with local businesses, community organizations, and public leaders.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while building strong professional relationships throughout the community.

Key Responsibilities
Economic Development & Community Engagement
  • Assist the President/CEO with economic development initiatives, projects, and research
  • Support Member and investor engagement efforts and help maintain strong relationships with members and investors
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local business organizations, community groups, elected officials, government representatives, and other public leaders at the direction of the President/CEO
  • Assist with community outreach, meetings, events, and economic development activities
  • Conduct research and gather information to support economic development projects and organizational initiatives
Project Management & Organization
  • Coordinate and track multiple projects, assignments, and deadlines
  • Maintain project schedules, follow-up items, and status updates
  • Ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Develop and maintain organized systems for documents, contacts, projects, and organizational information
  • Anticipate needs, follow through on assignments, and communicate proactively with leadership and stakeholders
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administrative duties
  • Work with payroll processing company to accurately process payroll
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and process monthly member/investor invoices
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assist with financial reporting and other accounting-related tasks as needed
  • Ensure financial audits are performed as required by policy
Board & Organizational Support
  • Prepare materials and assist with planning for bi-monthly Board of Directors meetings
  • Coordinate logistics, communications, agendas, and supporting materials for Board meetingsCoordinate the organization's Annual Meeting, including scheduling, communications, logistics, materials, and follow-up
  • Maintain organized records, calendars, files, and project documentation
  • Provide administrative support to the President/CEO and organizational leadership

Education & Experience

Preferred: Four-year degree in business, economics, public administration, economic development, or a related field, or an equivalent professional experience demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully perform the position may be considered.

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience)
