Job summary

The City of Cloquet, MN is seeking a Community Development Director to drive the city's financial vitality by attracting new businesses, supporting existing ones, and creating jobs.

Minimum qualifications include a four-year degree in business or public administration with economics/marketing/finance coursework and three years in public administration, plus at least one year in economic development. A Master’s degree and National Development Council or IEDC certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of increasingly responsible public administration experience with at least one year in economic development.

Responsibilities

• Drive Cloquet's financial vitality by attracting new businesses and supporting existing ones.
• Create jobs and align growth with zoning and housing policies.
• Act as strategic advisor to city officials and negotiate development contracts.
• Oversee grant management and fund/financing optimization.
