Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Junior Economic Analyst to support federal and state workforce, labor market, and program integrity efforts in Arlington, VA. You will analyze large datasets, build dashboards, and apply econometric methods to evaluate program performance and inform decisions.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 3+ years in economics/data analytics, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Proficiency in R/Python/SQL and BI tools is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; seven years of experience may substitute for degree.
  • Three years in economics, data analytics, statistics, or public policy analysis.
  • Proficiency with R, Python, SQL, SAS or similar statistics tools.
  • Experience developing analytical reports, dashboards, and visualizations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, performance drivers, and root causes affecting program outcomes.
  • Support economic and policy analysis related to workforce development, labor economics, and government benefit programs.
  • Conduct quantitative research using statistical and econometric methods to evaluate program effectiveness and operational performance.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and presentations that communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of analytical models that support program monitoring and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, validate, and interpret data from multiple sources.
  • Support program integrity initiatives by identifying potential fraud, waste, abuse, and compliance risks.
  • Contribute to research reports, policy briefs, technical documentation, and client deliverables.
  • Participate in project planning activities and support the successful delivery of analytics projects within established timelines.

Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.* Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident, due to nature of client engagements.* Bachelor's degree .
