Job summary

BRG in New York, NY seeks an Associate to join our economic consulting team and deliver data-driven insights for high-stakes legal and policy matters.

You will source and curate large datasets, build econometric models, forecast outcomes, and prepare rigorous client deliverables with mentors and training support to accelerate your development in economics, statistics, and data science within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related analytical field, with an expected graduation date between Winter 2026 and Summer 2027.
• 3.6 GPA or higher preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in applying analytics to business, legal, regulatory, or policy questions.
• Strong quantitative, research, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-service environment.
• Attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Experience with statistical, econometric and programming tools such as Excel, Stata, R, Python, SQL or similar platforms is preferred.
• Fluency with AI tools is desirable.
• Candidates must be able to submit verification of their legal right to work in the United States, without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Conduct economic, financial, statistical, and industry research to support client engagements.
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, test hypotheses, and develop data-driven insights.
• Support damage assessments, asset valuations, market analyses, forecasting exercises, and regulatory or litigation-related evaluations.
• Assist with the preparation of expert reports, presentations, exhibits, and other client deliverables.
• Develop a practical understanding of industries, markets, legal claims, and business issues relevant to each engagement.
