BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY:

The eCommerce Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of online projects, ensuring that digital commerce initiatives align with business goals, are completed on time, and deliver a superior eCommerce experience from acquisition to retention. This role requires a blend of project management expertise, digital marketing knowledge, and a strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and integrations to drive continuous improvement.

BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY:

The eCommerce Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of online projects, ensuring that digital commerce initiatives align with business goals, are completed on time, and deliver a superior eCommerce experience from acquisition to retention. This role requires a blend of project management expertise, digital marketing knowledge, and a strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and integrations to drive continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Leadership: Direct all phases of e-commerce projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication between teams, resolving conflicts, and ensuring all parties are informed and engaged
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the main point of contact between internal teams (Ecomm/IT, Marketing & Merchandising) and external business clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables
  • Process Optimization: Identify and address inefficiencies in e-commerce operations, streamline workflows, and recommend system improvements
  • Third Party Vendors & Tools: Own and manage tools that impact cross-functional teams, including Google Business Tools, Forms, Chat/Phone Function, Affiliate & Loyalty Programs
  • Performance Analysis: Set and monitor KPIs, analyze sales and traffic data, and use insights to refine strategies and enhance ROI
  • Customer Experience: Work with UI/UX teams to optimize the online shopping journey, improve site usability, and increase conversion rates
  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage internal and external resources, including team members and third-party vendors
  • Risk and Change Management: Anticipate potential project risks, develop contingency plans, and manage change processes to ensure project success
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, challenges, and achievements
  • Drive the successful execution of e-commerce initiatives by leading cross-functional teams, optimizing project workflows, and ensuring the timely delivery of digital solutions
  • Leverage data-driven insights to enhance user experience and maximize online sales performance
  • Champion collaboration and innovation to achieve business objectives and deliver measurable results in a fast-paced digital environment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Duties, Skills, Responsibilities, and Expectations:

  • Lead and coordinate all planning aspects of e-commerce projects, from initial concept and strategy through to launch and ongoing optimization
  • Serve as the main liaison between cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, and ecommerce/IT, to ensure seamless project execution and communication
  • Coordinate the integration of e-commerce platforms with internal systems (ERP, CRM, inventory management) and ensure seamless data flow between businesses
  • Develop and maintain detailed project scope plans, set timelines, and allocate resources to achieve project objectives
  • Partner with Marketing & Merchandising to oversee the delivery of design, functionality, products, and user experience of e-commerce platforms, ensuring sites are ergonomic, functional, and optimized for sales conversions
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and sales data to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement
  • Ensure ongoing site maintenance, content management, and regular updates to product listings, pricing, and promotions
  • Ensure all e-commerce initiatives comply with relevant regulations, security & compliance standards, payment gateway, and best practices
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, technology partners, and platform providers
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and risk management protocols throughout the project lifecycle
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the project team

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in e-commerce or project management
  • Proven experience managing e-commerce or digital projects, preferably in a B2B or B2C environment
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms (e.g., BigCommerce or Shopify), CRM & Marketing Automation tools (e.g., NetSuite & HubSpot), content management systems, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with project management software (e.g., Asana, Jira, or Trello)
  • Understanding of e-commerce plug-ins, including Chat & Call functions
  • Familiarity with Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and Google Merchant Center
  • Technical proficiency with e-commerce platforms and integrations (e.g, APIs & ERP connectors)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving digital environment
  • Knowledge of digital marketing techniques, UX/UI principles, and web technologies
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • PMP or a similar certification is a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Position is fully remote to the US only
  • Ability to accommodate multiple time zones with primary ET (EST/EDT)
  • Dedicated workspace and high-speed internet
  • Frequent video conference/email/chat

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Maintaining a stationary position for up to 50% of the workday
  • Consistently operate a computer and other productivity equipment, including keyboard, webcam, and document scanner
  • Clarity of vision of 30” or less
  • Ability to perceive sound in the capacity of oral communication
  • Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force as related to the lifting or moving of objects

Compensation for this role will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, and competencies. The Company will meet minimum wage or the minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county, and state requirements.
