Ecomm Project Manager Overview

The Project Manager will actively manage the delivery of exciting new consumer-facing functionality to J.Crew Group brand websites (jcrew.com, factory.jcrew.com) via both large-scale initiatives and short-burst enhancements. This individual will manage both the day-to-day scrum ceremonies, as well as scheduling and participating in backlog refinement, scope discussions, design sessions, and sprint planning. This role ultimately serves as a liaison between the Business / Product teams as well as Engineering, QA, and Web Operations. To ensure ongoing success for all, this individual puts the team first, empowering each team member to voice their own ideas and collectively drive efficiency, growth, and excellence. Together, we are partners in fostering a supporting, safe, accepting, and collaborative space for everyone to thrive in.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for driving the building and implementation of enhanced web experiences for J.Crew Group websites – jcrew.com, factory.jcrew.com Where needed, this role will flex outside of digital, as well as support organizational peak readiness and execution.
  • Lead daily stand-ups, assist in impediment removal, and work closely with Product partners for backlog refinement activities, sprint planning, and overall delivery.
  • Ability to flex between Scrum master duties and Agile methodologies, and pivot to traditional waterfall delivery as dictated by Project needs.
  • Support the front-end and back-end Code Release process by working closely with Tech Operations on moving stories from development to QA, and to final build.
  • Partner with Product, QA, Engineering, DevOps, and peers within PMO to improve workflows and processes that empower a streamlined CI/CD process.
  • Act as a support for site issue resolution in both production and lower environments.
  • Work closely with the business and tech to enable the creation and application of A/B tests for new site experience while supporting the evaluation of test results and customer interactions.
  • Partner with vendors to introduce new integrations and functionalities, while ensuring existing products and tools continue to meet business needs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate overlapping operational efforts.
  • Ensure all work is tracked in our workflow tool, JIRA, and collaborate via multiple software tools.
  • Provide executive level weekly statuses via SmartSheet.
  • Manage budget for team including quarterly CEA submissions, accruals, forecasts, and invoice reviews.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and business audiences

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail across project plans, timelines, and status reporting
  • A collaborative team player focused on improving outcomes for customers, business stakeholders, and technical partners alike
  • Comfort working across internal teams (engineering, business, creative) and external vendors/partners
  • Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) and a demonstrated eagerness to apply them to day-to-day work, such as status reporting, documentation, meeting synthesis, data analysis, and similar tasks

Preferred:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies (Scrum, sprint planning, backlog grooming a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with project/workflow tools such as Smartsheet, JIRA, and Confluence, and collaboration platforms like Microsoft Teams
  • Experience supporting eCommerce platforms, site merchandising, or digital product launches
  • Interest in evolving operational processes (e.g., documenting new guidelines, standards, and playbooks as the team matures)
  • Demonstrated success managing projects with multiple stakeholders, shifting priorities, and varying team structures
