Job description

Named to the Inc. 5000 for five consecutive years as one of America’s fastest-growing fashion brands, Marcella offers women’s designer minimalist essentials. NYC-designed and European-handcrafted, we’re a next-generation 1-for-1 brand where every major facet of our operation—design, production, sustainability, and social impact—advances women and girls globally.

At the heart of this approach is the School Days Project: for every order Marcella sells, we support three days of school for a marginalized girl around the world, with 1.1 million school days supported to date.

We’re hiring an Ecommerce Operations Coordinator in the U.S. to join our 13-person global marketing team. This role will coordinate and execute Marcella’s day-to-day customer-facing website operations, helping ensure that site updates, campaigns, promotions, merchandising changes, and development projects launch accurately, on time, and in accordance with approved brand and business requirements.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Ecommerce Manager, the Ecommerce Operations Coordinator will execute customer-facing updates across Marcella’s Shopify Plus website and Shop app. This person will coordinate the assets, copy, requirements, approvals, implementation, and testing needed to bring campaigns, promotions, seasonal refreshes, and site enhancements to life.

The role will also contribute to visual merchandising and ongoing site optimization by monitoring inventory, sell-through, product performance, and onsite customer behavior. Working closely with Creative, Design, Merchandising, Listings, Ecommerce, and Development, this person will help ensure that Marcella’s digital shopping experience is accurate, intuitive, visually consistent, and continuously improving.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional organization and attention to detail with strong visual judgment, analytical thinking, and technical curiosity.

Key Responsibilities
Site Coordination and Execution
  • Implement updates across the website and Shop app, including the homepage, navigation, collection pages, blogs, subscription pop-ups, and promotional messaging.
  • Coordinate assets, copy, requirements, and approvals across Creative, Ecommerce, and Development for campaigns, promotions, and seasonal site refreshes.
  • Ensure that customer-facing updates launch on time, are accurate and visually consistent with approved brand direction, and support the intended shopping journey.
  • Partner with the Senior Ecommerce Manager to execute sitewide visual merchandising for campaigns, product launches, promotions, and seasonal initiatives, using brand priorities, product performance, key investments, and product lifecycle to guide placement.
  • Monitor inventory and sell-through across the assortment to help inform visual merchandising and product placement throughout the site.
  • Flag low-stock and sold-out styles, broken size runs, and potential preorder needs, and coordinate with Merchandising and the Listings Team to ensure that the customer-facing experience accurately reflects product availability.
Site Optimization
  • Analyze onsite behavior across the homepage, navigation, collection filters, and search to assess site changes and identify opportunities to improve product discovery and the overall shopping experience.
  • Compile product-performance data for the Listings Team to support improvements aimed at reducing returns, increasing conversion, and lowering bounce rates.
  • Apply SEO and answer engine optimization best practices and implement approved recommendations from internal teams and external agency partners.
  • Monitor competitor sites and market trends, benchmark key ecommerce experiences, and recommend opportunities to improve Marcella’s site.
UI, UX, and Development Testing
  • Partner with the Senior Ecommerce Manager, Design, and Development to bring new UI and UX experiences from concept through launch.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-launch testing of new features, integrations, site enhancements, and bug fixes across desktop and mobile.
  • Document issues, coordinate fixes, and validate that the final experience reflects approved designs, brand standards, and business requirements.
Special Projects
  • Coordinate the gift-with-purchase experience across loyalty and promotional campaigns, partnering with Design, Merchandising, Creative, and Ecommerce on gift selection, site presentation, eligibility messaging, and launch timing.
  • Configure and test the onsite experience, monitor gift inventory and acceptance rates, flag when a backup gift is needed, and share findings to inform future offers.
  • Apply the same coordination and quality-assurance approach to other special ecommerce projects.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, ecommerce, merchandising, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of Shopify ecommerce experience, preferably in fashion.
  • Experience updating site content and testing shopping experiences across desktop and mobile.
  • Understanding of ecommerce operations, inventory, sell-through, and product lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of digital merchandising, UI, UX, and the ecommerce customer journey.
  • Ability to use customer and product data to recommend site improvements.
  • Working knowledge of SEO; familiarity with answer engine optimization and AI-search visibility is a plus.
  • Strong visual judgment, attention to detail, communication, and project-management skills.
  • Experience with analytics platforms is a plus.
  • Curiosity about AI and emerging ecommerce tools, with a willingness to learn.
  • Health and dental insurance.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Paid vacation and sick leave.
  • Employee discounts on Marcella products.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
