The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Ecommerce Manager to own the day-to‑day operation and performance of Abbode's custom Shopify website. You'll bring our products and brand to life online, execute launches, improve the shopping experience, and turn customer and sales insights into measurable results.
Our website includes custom functionality across the storefront and backend. You'll work closely with developers to improve both, translating business needs into clear requirements, prioritizing projects, testing updates, and making sure changes work for our customers and internal teams.
You'll also manage virtual assistants supporting ecommerce execution, assigning work, setting standards, reviewing output, and building processes that keep daily operations accurate and efficient.
You'll partner closely with Marketing, Creative, Planning, and Operations to keep priorities aligned.
This role combines commercial thinking, project management, and hands‑on execution. We're looking for someone who can move comfortably between merchandising the website, troubleshooting an operational issue, briefing a developer, and reviewing the team's work.
What You'll Do
- Own daily Shopify operations, including product setup, collections, navigation, pricing, promotions, and website content.
- Manage product listings from setup through launch, ensuring descriptions, imagery, variants, and product details are complete and accurate.
- Merchandise the homepage, collection pages, and product recommendations to highlight new arrivals, bestsellers, seasonal stories, and available inventory.
- Own the ecommerce execution calendar, coordinating product launches, restocks, promotions, and site updates with teams across the business.
- Partner with Marketing and Creative to translate campaigns into cohesive landing pages and shopping experiences.
- Improve the customer journey across mobile and desktop, identifying and testing opportunities to increase conversion, average order value, and revenue.
- Track ecommerce revenue, conversion, average order value, product performance, and customer behavior, turning findings into clear priorities and actions.
- Perform A/B tests as needed, or work with partners to execute.
- Mindfully improve the SEO of the core website.
- Partner with Planning and Operations to align site merchandising with stock availability, sell‑through, and replenishment priorities.
- Own the website improvement roadmap across frontend experiences and backend systems, prioritizing projects based on business impact, customer needs, and operational efficiency.
- Manage as‑needed coordination with developers, translating business needs into clear briefs, requirements, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with developers to improve custom functionality, integrations, data flows, and internal tools that support ecommerce operations.
- Oversee testing and rollout of website changes, validating customer‑facing functionality and backend workflows, tracking issues, and confirming fixes.
- Manage website quality checks before and after launches, catching issues with links, discounts, imagery, pricing, and checkout.
- Manage virtual assistants supporting product uploads, catalog maintenance, website updates, and other recurring ecommerce tasks. Assign priorities, review completed work, and provide feedback.
- Build clear instructions, launch checklists, and reporting routines that make execution more reliable as Abbode grows.
- Work with Customer Experience to identify recurring shopping friction and address its root causes.
- Identify repetitive manual work and partner with developers and VAs to simplify processes and introduce appropriate automation.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in ecommerce, digital merchandising, or website management, ideally at a fashion, accessories, gifting, or lifestyle brand.
- Prior hands‑on Shopify experience is required. You must have personally managed products, built collections, updated storefront content, and executed launches within Shopify.
- Experience managing developers or development agencies on a custom ecommerce website, including writing requirements, prioritizing work, testing changes, and coordinating releases.
- A working understanding of how frontend experiences, backend systems, apps, and integrations connect, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and communicate clearly with technical partners.
- Experience managing virtual assistants, freelancers, or distributed support teams, including delegation, documentation, quality control, and accountability.
- A track record of improving website performance or the online shopping experience, with examples of what you changed and the results.
- Confidence using Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics 4, and spreadsheets to understand performance and recommend action.
- Strong merchandising instincts and an eye for how imagery, copy, and product placement work together to drive sales.
- Excellent organization and project management skills, with the ability to keep multiple launches and priorities moving.
- Close attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
- Clear communication and experience collaborating with creative, marketing, inventory, and operations teams.
- A resourceful, accountable mindset and comfort working in a fast‑moving environment.
Experience with Shopify Plus, Klaviyo, conversion testing, SEO fundamentals, and workflow automation is a plus.
