Border Concepts and EarthWay Products make lawn, garden, and outdoor products sold through Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and our own sites. We’re looking for an e-commerce leader to own digital growth across both brands.
The E-Commerce Manager serves as the strategic leader for all e-commerce operations across
EarthWay Products and Border Concepts. This role is accountable for formulating, executing, and continuously refining the multi-channel e-commerce strategy that drives revenue growth, operational efficiency, and brand integrity across both organizations.
The E-Commerce Manager exercises independent judgment and discretionary authority in the design, prioritization, and optimization of e-commerce systems, platforms, agency partnerships, and investment decisions. Hands-on involvement is limited to analysis, exception management, and resolution of systemic issues rather than routine transactional execution.
You’ll set the strategy, run the advertising, and act as the voice of the online customer. You’ll turn what shoppers search for, buy, review, and complain about into better listings, smarter ad spend, and new products. If you’ve grown an Amazon business before and want a seat at the table where products get decided, this role is for you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set the strategy
- Build and run the unified e-commerce strategy for Border Concepts and EarthWay across Amazon (Seller and Vendor Central), Walmart, Wayfair, Shopify, and DTC. Own channel P&L performance.
- Set KPIs, reporting, and priorities across both companies to keep growth scalable and consistent.
- Evaluate and launch new platforms, brands, and revenue channels as the business grows, and give leadership input on long-term digital growth.
Drive Amazon and marketplace growth
- Develop and run full-funnel advertising: Sponsored Products, Brands, and Display, plus DSP where it makes sense, across marketplaces and DTC.
- Set, allocate, and adjust ad budgets within company guidelines. Measure ROI (TACoS, ROAS, profit) to decide when to push, when to pull back, and where the next dollar goes.
- Set listing standards and content strategy: titles, keywords, A+ Content, Brand Stores, images, video, and reviews. Optimize them continuously for conversion.
- Own pricing frameworks, promotions, and deals (Lightning Deals, Prime Day, coupons) to maximize sales and margin.
- Manage FBA shipments and inventory health so products stay in stock and avoid storage fees.
Be the voice of the customer and help shape new products
- Mine reviews, Q&A, return reasons, search-term data, service data, and competitor listings to find unmet consumer needs.
- Spot category trends, white-space opportunities, and pricing gaps before competitors do.
- Bring product ideas, improvements, and feature or packaging changes to Product Development, backed by data.
- Plan new product launches, including keyword strategy, launch advertising, and early review generation.
Protect the brand and account health
- Monitor platform performance, cancellations, customer issues, and account risk to catch systemic problems early.
- Set customer experience standards and escalation protocols across all channels. Resolve escalations that could affect revenue, compliance, or platform standing.
Lead partners and teams
- Negotiate and manage agency, technology, and content partners. Hold them accountable for results and recommend changes or termination when they fall short.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Finance, and Customer Service to align e-commerce with broader business goals.
Own the systems and operations
- Own the e-commerce systems architecture, including NetSuite, EDI, SPS Commerce, and related integrations. Serve as the internal expert on EDI and e-commerce systems.
- Manage daily order processing for EDI retail partners (The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Meijer, Ace, and others).
- Oversee inventory positioning, fulfillment performance, and shipment accuracy and timeliness. Step in with corrective plans when service levels are at risk.
- Lead the integration of Border Concepts and EarthWay e-commerce systems.
- Improve SOPs, automation, and controls to reduce manual work and operational risk.
How we’ll measure success
- Sustainable revenue and profit growth across Border Concepts and EarthWay channels
- Advertising efficiency and return on investment
- Platform stability, compliance, and account health
- Successful systems integration and scalability
- Leadership impact and individual contribution to company performance
