Overview

At Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), every member of our team has a personal stake in ensuring the success of our clients. As employee-owners of the firm, we are all personally accountable for building lasting relationships and delivering outstanding results. We put people first, whether that's our clients, our employees, or our community. It's why we listen more and work harder to understand the unique needs of our clients. And it's why we prioritize the career development of every individual on our team. People are why we do this, and why we love what we do. We are at our best when we work together. That means bringing together a diverse team of talented, passionate, multidisciplinary experts to work closely alongside clients to create comprehensive solutions to complex problems. We believe that by working together, no problem is insurmountable.

As an Ecologist for CEC, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects including mitigation banking, solar, oil/gas development, and public sector environmental planning. You'll assist in wetland and stream delineation projects, prepare delineation reports, assist with preparing permit applications, and write NEPA documents. The majority of your time will be spent in the field, with some office work as-required.

CEC offers a unique career path for their ecologists, which parallels that of the engineers and other professionals. We have the same opportunity to manage complex projects and develop relationships with clients. You will attend conferences, be involved in project planning, management, and execution, and advance your career as you display competence at the various levels.

Our Nashville office has a very strong and growing team of 7 ecologists. Our office is located in Franklin, TN, just minutes to Nashville while sitting in Williamson County which is nationally known for its phenomenal public schools and bountiful family-friendly neighborhoods. Middle Tennessee is steeped in history and there are numerous historic sites dotted across the local landscape. Much like our seemingly unending attractions, the food scene here trends the same way - from diners and taco shops to high-end fine dining, there is no lack of excellent eats in our city. Nashville is teeming with fun and really has something for everyone! A truly metropolitan southern city and ranking high in livability, Nashville appeals to all. If you love the outdoors, Middle Tennessee is home to 15 state parks and natural areas with close to 60 around the whole state. Downtown Nashville offers a thriving community of culture and nightlife - take in a show at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, listen to a concert at the Schermerhorn Symphony or check out the honkytonk scene. Nashville attracts the world's best musicians - there's always a show at Bridgestone Arena or Nissan Stadium (and it's not unusual to see the performers downtown thereafter). We aren't short on sports; our city is home to 3 pro teams (Tennessee Titans, Nashville Soccer Club, and Nashville Predators) and AAA Baseball (Nashville Sounds). Looking for something more family-friendly? The Nashville Zoo boasts a wide range of animals from all parts of the world and organizes great events throughout the year the whole family is sure to enjoy!
