Job summary

SEEDS Ecology & Education Centers in Mesick, MI seeks an Assistant Site Coordinator to support the Site Coordinator by delivering nutrition, enrichment, and academic and emotional support to youth. Work aligns with grant objectives and involves collaboration with staff and families in a 25-hour weekly schedule, with some evenings or weekends.

The role emphasizes safety, data collection, and coordination with DHHS/ MiLEAP and MDE requirements, while providing leadership in the absence of the Site

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Must pass all required background checks.
• Must be First Aid/CPR certified.
• Minimum of 1 year working with youth.
• At least 19 years of age, preferred.
• 480 hours of direct work with school aged children preferred.
• Have completed 15 clock hours, 1 semester hour, or 1.5 CEU’s of documented school aged training preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Must meet all DHHS/ MiLEAP qualifications as stated in Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers booklet.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct high-quality lessons aligned with grant objectives and enrichment.
• Build strong relationships with staff, students, and families.
• Manage classroom programming without supervision.
• Run program when Site Coordinator is absent.
• Document child behavior.
• Provide leadership and oversee support staff in Site Coordinator absence.
• Respond to emergencies and follow emergency plans.
• Understand and assist with DHHS/ MiLEAP and MDE data collection and compliance.
• Track and report MDE and SEEDS documentation in a timely manner.
• Enter attendance weekly; record EZ reports and activities weekly.
• Manage enrollment forms and facilitate end-of-year surveys.
• Assist PQA processes and contribute to program goals.
• Assist with GEMS uploads and with reporting outcome data.
• Communicate with SEEDS team to complete responsibilities and maintain a safe learning environment.
