Job description

Job Title: Echocardiography Technician

The Echocardiography Technician performs accurate adult echocardiographic exams, stress echos, and transesophageal ultrasound studies on inpatients and outpatients. The position requires initiative and judgment utilizing ultrasound equipment for diagnostic purposes.

Requirements:

• High school graduate plus an Associate's degree in the Medical Science field.
• Must have three (3) years' experience in Ultrasound, or come from an accredited ultrasound school and be Registered or registry eligible.
• Must obtain echo certification/registration within one year of employment.
• Must obtain the credits necessary to maintain their registry status.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with physicians to detect abnormalities on exams and report findings to the nurse or physician as needed.
• Maintain department supplies and ensure the performance of ultrasound and workstation equipment.
• Be available on call periodically to ensure 24/7 coverage.
• Retain statistics for monthly reports.
• Assist in clinical instruction of ultrasound students from various colleges.

Salary Range: $31.50-45.89/hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary within the stated range based on location.
