Job description

Position Overview

Day shift, PRN Echocardiography Lab Clinical Intern in Amarillo, TX.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as authorized under the direct supervision of an echocardiography tech.
• Perform basic echocardiography through TTE scans, including patient care, reporting patient conditions and circumstances, and maintaining equipment and unit cleanliness.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
• Work irregular schedules as required.
• Potential exposure to hazardous materials/situations including blood-borne pathogens, ionizing radiation, and communicable diseases.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in the Amarillo College Radiography Program.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program with an anticipated program completion within 24 months from the date of hire.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
