Job summary

Methodist Southlake Medical Center is seeking an Echo Technologist to perform comprehensive echocardiograms and related procedures under cardiology supervision. The role requires ARDMS/RDCS credentials, BLS, and on-call availability, with preference for ACLS and hospital experience.

You will work with GE VIVID E95 equipment, TEE probes, and Epic systems, ensuring patient safety and accurate data collection for physician interpretation.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an associate degree echo program and/or accredited echo training program preferred
• ACLS preferred
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) required
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with GE VIVID E95, TEE probes and Epic preferred
• Typing and computer skills preferred
• 1 year hospital experience preferred
• On Call required

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiograms including 2D, M-Mode, color Doppler, pulse wave Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, and transesophageal echo
• Assures proper patient identification and safety
• Maintains safe and therapeutic environment for patient
• Demonstrates understanding of universal precautions and fire/disaster procedures
• Completes forms and records for billing and quality assurance
• Supports department QA with data collection
• Work independently and with team, maintaining professional relationships

Under the direction of the supervisor of non-invasive cardiology, the echo team performs all echocardiograms to include 2D, M-Mode, color Doppler, pulse wave Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, transesophageal echocardiogram, stress echo and other related examinations according to established standards an practices at a high technical level.

Your Job Requirements:

• Graduate from an associate degree echo program and/or an accredited echo training program preferred High School Diploma and/or GED
• Current American Heart Association ACLS preferred
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association required
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) required
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with equipment including GE VIVID E95, TEE probes (to include the sterilization process), and Epic preferred
• Typing and computer skills preferred
• Work Experience: 1 year hospital experience preferred
• On Call required

• Participates in required and continuing educations. Attends or completes all mandatory facility and departmental education requirements.
• Responsible for patient preparation to include assessing compliance with NPO status, patient transport, placement of electrodes, placement of blood pressure cuff, presence of IV access if needed, secures the use of EKG monitoring equipment, remains with patient at all times, offers assistance under the director of an RN, maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
