Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Echocardiographer to perform cardiac ultrasound studies and support cardiology attending during stress echocardiograms and TEE procedures.

Applicants should graduate from a certified cardiovascular technology program with cardiac sonography specialization and have strong communication skills, with proficiency in common software tools. One year of echocardiography experience is preferred to provide high-quality patient care and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

The Echocardiographer is responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures. They also assist a trained, credentialed cardiology attending during stress echocardiogram and TEE procedures. Additionally, the position is responsible for complete knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school and/or graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• One-year clinical echocardiography experience.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification or Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certification or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certification.

Working Conditions:

• Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 500 lbs. and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.
