Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Per-Diem Pediatric Echocardiographer for our busy Pediatric Cardiology practice with offices in Brick, Red Bank, and Neptune. Primary duties include pediatric cardiac ultrasound with involvement in adult cases as needed, and support of a cardiologist during stress echocardiography and TEE.

Requirements include graduation from a cardiac ultrasound program or certified cardiovascular technology program, knowledge of cardiac anatomy and fetal circulation,

Qualifications

• Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school and/or graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography.
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of congenital heart defects both pre and post-surgery.
• Knowledge of fetal anatomy, physiology and circulation.
• Must document at least 15 hours of echocardiography related continuing education over a period of three (3) years. All hours must be relevant to echocardiography.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures.
• Assist a trained, credentialed cardiologist during stress echocardiogram and TEE procedures when necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
• Work in Brick, Red Bank or Neptune offices.
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.

The Pediatric Echocardiographer's primary responsibility is performing cardiac ultrasound procedures on the pediatric population, secondary responsibility will be performing cardiac ultrasound procedures on the adult population. He/she also assists a trained, credentialed cardiologist attending during stress echocardiogram and TEE procedures when necessary. Additionally, the position is responsible for complete knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.

A Per-Diem Pediatric Echocardiographer is needed for a busy Pediatric Cardiology practice. Will assist in our Brick, Red Bank or Neptune offices. Experience in Fetal echocardiology is needed and Epic experience a plus. The hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school and/or graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography.
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of congenital heart defects both pre and post-surgery.
• Knowledge of fetal anatomy, physiology and circulation.
• Must document at least 15 hours of echocardiography related continuing education over a period of three (3) years. All hours must be relevant to echocardiography.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• One-year clinical echocardiography experience preferred.
• One year of pediatric and/or fetal echocardiography experience.
• Certified in pediatric echocardiography.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certification or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certification or ARDMS Certification.
• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
