Dignity Health - Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, CA is seeking an Echo Tech/Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiography and related cardiac imaging for inpatients and outpatients. You will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images, ensuring patient comfort and accurate data collection.

The role requires cardiac imaging certifications, CPR/BLS, and the ability to communicate effectively with the care team while maintaining equipment quality and patient

Qualifications

  • Must hold one or more of the listed cardiac imaging certifications.
  • CPR certification required; BLS is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Performs technically correct echocardiograms with high resolution and contrast per protocol.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy for diagnostic purposes.
  • Maintains quality control procedures and records on echocardiographic equipment.
  • Performs cardiac diagnostic procedures (EKGs, EEGs, Holter) for inpatients and outpatients; adults and pediatrics.
  • Recognizes abnormal rhythms and cardiac issues on echo; notifies RN or MD as needed.
  • Checks resuscitation equipment daily and ensures availability for procedures.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Echo Tech/Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions.

Every day you will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data, ensuring patient comfort and performing a range of echocardiographic studies.

To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.

  • Performs technically correct echocardiograms that are of high resolution and contrast quality per protocol
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology for echocardiographic diagnostic purposes.
  • Maintains quality control procedures and records on echocardiographic equipment.
  • Performs cardiac diagnostic cardiac procedures (EKGs, EEGs, holter monitoring/scanning, telephonic arrhythmia monitoring) per protocol for both inpatients and outpatients; adult and pediatric.
  • Recognizes both abnormal EKG rhythms and cardiac abnormalities on echo that are potentially life threatening notifying appropriate person, RN or MD.
  • Checks emergency resuscitation/crash cart equipment daily and assures availability for procedures.
Job Requirements
Required
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI or
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
Preferred
  • Other Graduate of a program for cardiovascular technology
  • One year acute care ultrasound experience
