Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform echocardiography procedures in the Cardiology/Echocardiography department. You will help assess patient status and support physicians with imaging expertise.

The role requires graduation from an approved cardiac ultrasound program and ICAEL/ASE credentialing, with licensure eligibility if applicable. You will collaborate with fellows and students and contribute to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved cardiac ultrasound program with ICAEL/ASE credentialing.
  • Registry eligible candidates have 90 days to pass licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures in Cardiology/Echocardiography.
  • Supports teaching of Cardiology Fellows and Echocardiographer students; maintains workflow.
  • Assess data reflecting patient status and interpret information to identify needs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, scanning techniques, patient care and emergency situations.

Position Purpose

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.

What you will do
  • Performs Diagnostic Cardiac ultrasound procedures on patients in the Department of Cardiology/Echocardiography.
  • Participates in teaching Cardiology Fellows from the University of Connecticut Medical School and Echocardiographer students from the Hoffman Heart School of Ultrasound, maintains workflow, and performs clerical duties as needed.
  • The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements.
  • Must have a working knowledge of pertinent equipment, scanning techniques, patient care, and evaluating patient status and emergency situations. Ability to adequately use, or learn to use, the department's computerized system and its associated devices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an approved cardiac Ultrasound technology program, with credentialing from an ICAEL and ASE recognized Program, such as ARDMS or CCI. Registry eligible candidates have 90 days from date of hire to pass the licensure exam.
  • Licensure: Licensed by an organization recognized by ICAEL and ASE
