Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England in Hartford is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures in the Cardiology/Echocardiography department. You will assist in teaching Cardiology Fellows and Echocardiographer students, support workflow, and contribute to high-quality patient care.

You must have completed an approved cardiac ultrasound program with ICAEL/ASE credentialing (ARDMS or CCI) and hold licensure.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved cardiac Ultrasound technology program with ICAEL/ASE credentialing (ARDMS/CCI).
• Licensure: Licensed by ICAEL/ASE recognized organization.
• Registry eligible candidates have 90 days from hire date to pass licensure exam.

Responsibilities

• Performs Diagnostic Cardiac ultrasound procedures in the Cardiology/Echocardiography department.
• Participates in teaching Cardiology Fellows and Echocardiographer students; maintains workflow and performs clerical duties as needed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and assesses patient data to identify requirements.
• Uses department equipment and computer systems; learns to operate related devices as needed.

Position Purpose

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.

What you will do

• Performs Diagnostic Cardiac ultrasound procedures on patients in the Department of Cardiology/Echocardiography.
• Participates in teaching Cardiology Fellows from the University of Connecticut Medical School and Echocardiographer students from the Hoffman Heart School of Ultrasound, maintains workflow, and performs clerical duties as needed.
• The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements.
• Must have a working knowledge of pertinent equipment, scanning techniques, patient care, and evaluating patient status and emergency situations. Ability to adequately use, or learn to use, the department's computerized system and its associated devices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved cardiac Ultrasound technology program, with credentialing from an ICAEL and ASE recognized Program, such as ARDMS or CCI. Registry eligible candidates have 90 days from date of hire to pass the licensure exam.
