Job summary

LanceSoft is seeking an Echocardiographer in Cardiology to perform and supervise cardiac diagnostic testing, including echocardiograms, EKGs, Holter monitoring, and stress testing. The role requires maintaining high accuracy, using hospital systems for scheduling and billing, and teaching students from affiliated programs.

Responsibilities include neonatal and pediatric care alignment, infection control, and providing clinical resources to physicians and staff.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification: BLS and RCS.
  • Experience: certification program in echocardiography and/or 2 years hands-on imaging.
  • Preferred: neonatal and pediatric echocardiography imaging.

Job Title: Echocardiographer

Department: Cardiology

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Cardiac Diagnostic Technician performs direct patient cardiac diagnostic testing procedures with a high degree of accuracy and skill. Responsibilities include echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (EKGs), Holter monitoring, and cardiac stress testing. The technician ensures care is delivered in a timely, dependable manner in accordance with current standards, hospital policies, and patient age-specific needs. Acts as a clinical resource to physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Perform a variety of echocardiogram studies including Transthoracic 2-D, M-Mode, Color-flow Doppler, Transesophageal, Exercise Stress, and Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiography.

  2. Conduct additional cardiac diagnostics such as EKGs, Holter monitor preparation and analysis, and cardiac stress tests.

  3. Operate diagnostic equipment including echocardiographs, stress systems, Holter monitors, and associated software to ensure quality imaging and accurate results.

  4. Access and utilize hospital information systems for scheduling, order processing, and correct billing/coding of services rendered.

  5. Follow infection control protocols and demonstrate knowledge of aseptic techniques and disinfection procedures.

  6. Provide clinical training and preceptorship for students from affiliated educational institutions.

  7. Deliver age-specific diagnostic care, particularly for neonatal and pediatric populations, in alignment with established procedures.

  8. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the job.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • Certification:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required

    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) – Required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: Successful completion of a certification program in echocardiography and/or at least two years of hands‑on experience in echocardiographic imaging.

  • Preferred: Extensive hospital‑based experience in echocardiography, particularly in neonatal and pediatric imaging.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS:

  • Education: Completion of a Certificate Program in Cardiovascular Sonography
