Job description

Job Overview

Produces recordings of electromotive and ultrasonographic data related to the heart muscle using ECG and echocardiography to provide diagnostic information for heart ailments. Responsible for accurate performance and coordination of various procedures in the Echocardiology Department, including Echocardiograms, transesophageal echo, pacemaker analysis, exercise echo, and stress testing. Leads accreditation processes and serves as the department resource for compliance monitoring.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately perform and coordinate echocardiographic procedures, including two‑dimensional ultrasonic recordings for diagnosis of cardiac disease.
  • Perform and assist with stress testing (exercise or pharmacologic) and other non‑invasive cardiac diagnostic testing.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and education of staff on standards and compliance.
  • Assist with vascular work, transesophageal echo, pacemaker analysis, and exercise echo.
Qualifications
  • Degree in ultrasound technology (cardiac sonography preferred).
  • 3‑5 years of experience as a cardiac sonographer.
  • Certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer.
